First, props to Vice President Harris. I’ve never seen a candidate on a debate stage so in control of the moment. She demonstrated her mastery of the topics and her emotions. She mastered the facts. She showed understanding on a wide range of of issues. She worked her opponent while mostly speaking directly to the American people. We saw her empathy, her understanding, her determination, her drive, and her toughness. She remained casual, comfortable throughout but fire when it was warranted. Kamala Harris ran the show.
Harris didn’t need Trump to lose in order to win, but Lordy did he lose! He slumped, scowled, squinted and turned purple beneath his spray tan...some of which smeared off his chin during the first segment. He demonstrated his great admiration for dictators Orban and Putin. He told racist lies about dog-eating immigrants. His deflection from the questions were all the more obvious and weak against Harris’ direct answers on every single question.
She had no weak moments. She had no stumbles. It made his weakness, his stumbles, his complete and utter failure all the more glaring. At times he was taking wild haymakers without connecting on anything. In his worst moments he didn’t make any effort at all to connect his answers to the question being asked. He was not in control of himself. My sons were better behaved and more self aware when they were five.
The Prosecutor versus the felon didn’t meet expectations, it wildly exceeded them. Anyone deciding to vote for Trump over Harris after this was never being truthful when they said they were undecided.
